“What we are going through now has been approved by God.”

God won’t put you through anything He can’t handle. He may put you through something you can’t handle ALONE but there is beauty in that struggle. When you struggle with feeling weak, you are struggling with pride. Physical/emotional/spiritual weakness forces you to rely on Him and pride tempts you to hold on to give you a false sense of control and strength. God has total authority over Satan and nothing happens to you that will surprise Him.

In Job, there is a picture of Satan going before God saying the only reason Job was praising Him was because Job seemingly had everything. So he asked for permission for him to take things away from Job. God allowed it but put his own limits on the deal. He told Satan he could take things from Job without harming his physical body. This proves that God has all authority. There is nothing out of His control.

God is also the author of our stories. He is not constricted by time like we are. He sees the future He desires for us. He knows where we are going and how we will get there. THAT plan is the best for us. The plan He orchestrates will be far beyond our imagination.

So, if God is controlling our present while knowing His perfect future for us it means that

what we are going through right now is necessary to be where the Lord wants us in the future.

He is not constrained by time or Satan. He sees the end goal and has decided where you are now is best for you now and in the future. Time is fleeting. “This too shall pass” has been a motto of mine for years. Many times people hold onto this phrase when they are experiencing extremely tough times. But this is true in the good times too.

When you are living on Cloud Nine, you have to recognize that reality won’t last forever. Soak it in! Really absorb and learn from it. Ask the Lord to meet you in those places too. Ask Him to reveal to you more of Himself. But this phrase will also get you through the tough times. The times that you feel like you can’t do anything right and everything is falling apart. That’s when you hold onto the truth that your present circumstance is to prepare you for your future. Your present circumstance is not punishment, it’s preparation. Ask the Lord to give you companionship, peace, and further knowledge of himself within those times.

No matter where you are, enjoy it! You will never have another season in life like you are in right now. Your current season is important, if it wasn’t you wouldn’t be in it. He is using the present to prepare you for your future.

The Lord doesn’t waste anything.
